After emerging the winner last season, Geoffrey returned with loads of success stories as he launched his 7-track EP, Bursted. Apart from the mind blowing performances of some of his hit tracks, he also took a moment to appreciate the platform that has contributed greatly to his success story. Geoffrey is not the only testimonial of Season 7. Ugo and Emeka also showed how much they have been making the best use of all they learnt when they graced the stage to perform. Moelogo drops Do You Love Me video

With his new single, Do You Love Me, causing quite the stir this summer, and garnering strong support from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Bang Radio and Beat FM among leading tastemakers, UK-based afrobeats star and 2015 NEA nominee, Moelogo, has just released the highly anticipated music video for the Maleek Berry-produced single, premiered via VEVO. Directed by Ini (InneX Pictures) and Chas Appeti (Krept & Konan, Ghetts, Lethal B), with cameo appearances from Capital Xtra’s DJ Abrantee and Maleek Berry, the Do You Love Me visuals tell a gripping and rather poignant story about betrayal, jealousy, revenge, but most importantly love, using the infamous H. Jackson Brown Jr. quote “sometimes the heart sees what is invisible to the eyes” as its inspiration. Along with the release of new visuals for Do You Love Me, Moelogo has also announced the first leg of his UK nationwide autumn tour, taking place this October, with dates in Glasgow, Nottingham, Loughborough and Leicester. I’m not a rape victim –Bimbo Peters

With One Fine Day, a movie that premiered recently at Silverbird Galleria, Lagos, Bimbo Peters, one of Nigeria’s finest actresses, cut her production teeth. She spoke with Victor Udoh about the movie and her Nollywood journey. Tell us about yourself. I am a regular girl, a reserved person but can be loud when I’m with my family. I am shy but fun to be with. After attending secondary school in Nigeria Navy and Crystal College, I went to UK for my ‘A’ levels and then University of Bedford for my degree in accounting and finance. Later, I got masters in marketing management from Houston in America and also studied acting and producing in New York. Why did you venture into the movie industry? I have always loved acting right from when I was in SS 2. Like I said earlier, I am very shy and could not summon the courage to tell my parents. I wanted to venture into acting. So I had to do something that I also like, which is accounting. However in my final year in university, someone reminded m

Shame makes Mercy Johnson defiant

It’s said that everything that has a good side must have a bad side. The above adage applies to popular actress, Mercy Johnson, right now, as she’s receiving a lot of flak for being pregnant for the third time when her second child is not even a year old yet. Children are very important in our society, and people are encouraged to have children. That’s the good side for Johnson. The bad side for her, though, is the timing of her latest conception. Johnson is not however ready to just take the flak which should be making her feel ashamed and defensive. She has therefore chosen to be defiant and return fire for fire to all those on her case. Speaking with Goldmyne TV, “I am expecting my third child and I’m a married person so I don’t think people should ask me why. I understand the ethics of spacing kids but I’m a married person and an adult. I can decide the way I want to live my life. “So yes, I’m having my third baby very soon. Thank you so much for the good wishes, thank you so much

Cossy Orjiakor embarrasses herself

Nigerian celebrities really know how to let themselves down. Though they see themselves as celebrities, and they are celebrities actually to Nigerians and in Nigeria-and-Africa-related circles, they don’t really know what it means to be a celebrity so they really let themselves down badly. A very good example of a so-called celebrity who should be ashamed of herself right now is actress and singer Cossy Orjiakor. She’s definitely a celebrity in Nigeria. She’s a household name, albeit in a salacious manner because she has a very big bosom and she flaunts it brazenly. It’s therefore shocking that considering her celebrity status, she was so ecstatic at being issued a visa to enter Germany that she posted a picture of the visa online, making it seem as if being issued a visa is such a big deal. Frankly, such an action is unbecoming of a star. An American star would definitely not post a picture of his visa to another country online because he would see it as only his due to be granted the

More controversy for Timaya

Right now, the controversy that has come his way is one that might turn out to be quite a nasty one. It’s a controversy based on one of the most controversial issues in entertainment: copyright theft. And the person making an allegation of his copyright being infringed is someone who wouldn’t do so without good reason. The person in question is a colleague of Timaya, being a celebrity music artist like Timaya. He’s none other than Jahbless who is currently promoting his latest album, IAMME, and he has now alleged that the beat Timaya sang his latest single, Halleluyah, on, actually belongs to him. Through Instagram, Jahbless posted a message (reproduced below) in which he made his allegation, accused Halleluyah’s producer of theft and absolved Timaya of blame. “Hey bro, @timayatimaya, who ever produced that your Halleluyah jam should be jailed! He lifted the instrumental off my album, #iamme, track 2, Jeje ft @oristefemi, and gave it to you. I want to believe you know nothing about it

P-Square's lack of media respect exposed ... also snubbed SUN newspaper like SoundCity

It has now come to light that SoundCity is not the only media organization that has requested for P-Square’s services and P-Square declined. According to a staff of SUN newspaper, they also requested P-Square to come and perform at their event and P-Square charged them N6m. They said they would pay N5m but P-Square rejected it. And according to the SUN staff, their own reaction too was to blacklist P-Square in their extremely respected paper. So the question now is, can P-Square hope to fight the media and win? P-Square’s lack of respect for the media that made them successful became known last week when Peter P-Square disclosed to the world through a number of tweets that top urban music and lifestyle satellite TV channel, SoundCity, was no longer airing their videos. Peter made the disclosure in reaction to some P-Square fans who were enquiring from him why they were not seeing their videos on SC. And in answering the fans, Peter didn’t mince words. He told the fans that SC wasn’t a
