If only Dammy Krane was an American artist …

Krane
Truth be told, if Dammy Krane was an American artist, he would probably be the trending artist for now.

When American artists pass through the sort of travails Krane did with his credit card scam issue, they end up the better for it as the ensuing publicity helps their brand become more visible and more marketable, earning them endorsements, book deals, TV deals, shows, big money.
Akon for instance came from prison to become successful. And Meek Mill has gotten the most buzz ever in his career simply because he’s been sent to jail.

But is Krane benefitting from his own similar issue?

It doesn’t seem to be so as he complained recently that Nigerians are seeing him as a fraudster when he was considered innocent in America, hence his release.

This probably indicates that nobody really wants to have anything to do with his brand as that’s the Nigerian attitude.

Since his return, he’s trended more for his spats with his colleagues Tekno, Wizkid than his music efforts, songs like Your Body (Odoo Esisi Mi), which are quite good.

So what’s the way out for him?

Maybe he should just consult popular Yoruba Nollywood actress, Yetunde Wunmi, on how she survived her own image smearing drug smuggling ordeal.
