P-Square battle! Who’s winning? Peter or Paul?

Paul (left) and Peter
When music groups break up, one of the erstwhile members eventually turns out to be the most successful in his or her solo music career.

In the case of Plantashun Boiz, 2face proved his worth over Blackface and Faze. eLDee achieved a successful solo career that his fellow Trybesmen couldn’t. Eedris Abdulkareem found the most success when The Remedies broke up. Only Lara George could stand the real heat from Kush’s demise.

So do not kid yourself that P-Square’s breakup will see both of them having successful solo careers. In fact it’s already obvious that both of them might not be successful as people seem to have a bias for Paul.

However, you can only permutate while the reality unfolds.

And on current permutations, Peter has been believed to be musically weaker than Paul. However, his two solo 2017 releases, Cool It Down and For My Head, have proven otherwise.

So for those who feel Peter doesn’t have what it takes musically like Paul, start having a rethink.

Peter also has another advantage over Paul. He’s still dancing, something Paul has refused to since he was said to have an accident on stage while doing so.

Though Peter’s abovementioned songs have met with a lot of criticism, maybe because he released them before Paul released anything and which proves the depth of his ambition, they are catching on nonetheless.

Meanwhile, Paul’s releases, Nkeji Keke and Fire Fire, seem to have met with instant acceptance with people saying they have the P-Square sound.

Retaining the P-Square sound might however not be a really good thing for Paul since P-Square is dead, at least for now, and the dead and the living don’t mix so retaining the dead’s sound won’t augur well in the long run.

So far, none is winning for now. Peter forged ahead with his quick releases but Paul has caught up with his own.

So the battle is on as the two brothers are obviously trying to prove to the other that I’m the better artist.

But only one of them will triumph in this battle.

Which will it be?

That answer might just shock us all when it eventually arrives.
