Biola Alabi battles Mo Abudu

If there’s anything to be gleaned from media entrepreneur Biola Alabi’s aggressive promotion of her latest movie, Lara And The Beat, starring Seyi Shay, Vector Tha Viper, Chioma Akpotha, DJ Xclusive and many other big names, it’s that there seems to be more to the promotion than meets the eye.

It would seem obviously that she has to promote it aggressively in order to make it successful so her financial, emotional, mental and physical sacrifices on it will not be in vain.

However, when other factors are taken into consideration, it seems more and more that Alabi is actually out to prove a point that not only can her movie be successful but it can even be more successful than those of another woman like her, a media entrepreneur like her, Mo Abudu.

With her involvement in the extremely successful movies, The Wedding Party, and its sequel, Abudu has become like the most successful woman in the movie industry, the envy of all other women in the same industry.

And without a doubt, they won’t want to take it lying down.

Considering the way women think, it would be so hard for them to just submit to Abudu. After all, she’s a woman, they’re also women, so how’s she better than them, and what does she have they don’t have?

Challenging her is however something of an Herculean task.

She’s a strong woman, and only a strong woman can invest the type of money she does in her big-budget movies.

So it seems while other women are still only dreaming of how to tackle her, Alabi, without actually coming out to say so, has taken it upon herself to battle Abudu no matter what it takes.

She has tried already with Banana Island Ghost. Now it’s the turn of LATB, and it’s been promoted meticulously and the promotion is still ongoing as its cinema run has just begun.

So, will Alabi be able to prove to the world and to herself that she can make more commercially appealing movies than Abudu?

We eagerly await that answer.
