BB loss averts Wizkid, Davido shame

If we are honest with ourselves, many people who wanted Burna Boy to win the Grammy category he was nominated for this year also didn’t want him to with a part of their minds.

That’s just true of human nature which always has two sides to everything.

And considering there’s an unofficial battle on in Nigeria as to who will be the first Nigeria-based music practitioner to win a Grammy, and with failure severely trolled and success celebrated online nowadays, some certain people in particular would have heaved sighs of relief at BB’s loss.

Such is the intensity of the online savagery nowadays that Davido was dragged for not being on the Lion King soundtrack with Beyonce while Wizkid was.

So imagine if BB had indeed won the Grammy.

The two guys that would have been most trolled over it are Wizkid and Davido without a doubt. They would have been bashed mercilessly that BB is better than them musically and has more worldwide appeal than them and all that as they (Wiz and Dave) are definitely the two biggest urban music artists in the country presently.

So while they both rooted for BB to win the Grammy, they must have also felt some sort of relief at his loss and what it means for the continued relevance of their own brands.
