Korede Bello debuts new dance … floors Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Reekado Banks

Saying that Korede Bello is flying high is an understatement. He’s flying very high and is exhibiting signs that he can go even farther than initially expected of him as a musician. With his latest music video, Romantic, it has become apparent that Bello means business and is constantly thinking of how to advance his career. One step he takes thereby, though it can’t really be said to be a positive one, is to style himself to look more and more like one of the greatest Black music artists ever, Michael Jackson. And just like Jackson, he’s also capitalizing on the power of dancing to sell his brand. In his first video, God Win, he came up with a dance style that was unique to him, and he has done so in Romantic as well. And the move seems to be paying off for him. In this day and age when Youtube views determine to a great extent the rating of an artist’s brand, his Romantic, released on the same day with Wizkid’s latest music video for his song, Final (Baba Nla), has amassed double of the views Wiz’s Final has gotten. Wiz isn’t however the only one to feel the brunt of his constantly rising success. His label mate, Reekado Banks, who released the video for his own song, Sugar Baby, a week before Romantic’s release, will definitely be scratching his head and wondering what he’s doing wrong as Romantic’s views have also surpassed those of Sugar Baby. And even his boss, Don Jazzy, is not spared by Bello. Jazzy’s latest effort, Jantamanta, in which he featured all of his Mavin Records artists, Bello included, as well as Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Dr SID, Di’Ja, and Banks too, has fallen behind Romantic in its number of views, even though it was released a week before Romantic.
