OJB breezes into Nollywood

Celebrated music producer, OJB Jezreel, who made a lot of news two years ago over his kidney failure issue, is presently trending for starring in a movie, Anjola, alongside established actors that include Muyiwa Ademola, Kelvin Ikeduba and Bukky Wright. This is good news coming from the camp of the respected music star that had to deny having issues with his transplanted kidney recently. Considering that OJB is not a regular face in movies, maybe his presence in Anjola will help it become more successful than if it was just the regular Nollywood faces alone in it.

Freeze gets cold feet

One on-air personality that’s always having issues and making them really public Freeze of Cool FM. Though he doesn’t look like a troublemaker, his comments on most issues get him in trouble. At the conclusion of the 2015 presidential election, he remarked that Sammie Okposo had wrongfully supported Goodluck Jonathan and Okposo replied him pointblank that a matured person doesn’t speak anyhow and that a matured person can also support whomever he likes. And regarding his marriage problems, he’s been making many compromising online disclosures but he’s since deleted them. A case of cold feet? Go carefully, Freezy.

Emeka Ike’s troubled marriage update

Celebrities love to make the news, and Emeka Ike is making is making it in a very hot manner right now with an issue that generates a real lot of noise: relationship problems. And Ike is not in just any relationship problem, but the most sacred of them all, that of a married couple. Last week, a report broke out that his wife had filed for divorce and the court proceedings on it had been adjourned. So, last week, it was all about his wife. This week, however, the report has it that Ike has denied knowledge of the divorce suit. That’s not surprising however as celebrities are one set of people that can deny an issue until it becomes patently obvious to the whole world. A like example that readily comes to mind regarding this is that of Ike’s colleague, Funke Akindele. When her marriage was reported as being in crisis, she denied it until it got to the stage that she couldn’t anymore. Likewise Juliet Ibrahim. The actress-singer too denied that her marriage had hit the rocks when it was f

Bolatito Ladoja Idakula shares harrowing experience of baby child’s death … “I don’t need your pity”

Bolatito Ladoja Idakula is the daughter of the billionaire ex-Governor of Oyo State whom is married to popular singer, Bez Idakula. Taking a bold step, she has now disclosed to the world that her first child has died just 24 hours after birth and she writes about the pain of it. It is so odd, writing about the loss of a child, you fear that the words can never fully express the pain and the gravity of the situation. But I don't mean to just express my pain and loss. I mean to show God's power and love even in the darkest days. I come from a culture of silence, where speaking about certain issues is almost taboo. One of the most-kept secrets is when a woman loses a child, no one talks about it and it is almost like it never happened. People only speak about it when the woman has another child or they find out that you have lost a child. I fall in the category of the latter. I gave birth to my beautiful daughter on the 2nd of March 2015 and she passed away on the 3rd of March 2

Baba Ijebu gets another award

When you mention Baba Ijebu, the one name that immediately comes to mind is Chief Kessington Adebutu, the man who was given the name by his teeming admirers on account of his popularity as gaming entrepreneur. He gives some of them back to society for humanitarian causes and every sector of the economy has benefitted from his good will. Desperation? … Darey shamelessly copies Timi Dakolo

If you listen to Timi Dakolo’s Wish Me Well and Darey’s Pray For Me, you’ll realize you don’t need to have the intelligence of a brain surgeon to realize that one song inspired the other, or to put it bluntly, one song copied the other. The two songs are about a guy who decides to leave his village for the big city in search of the Golden Fleece. While Darey has just released his own Pray For Me, Dakolo’s Wish Me Well has been out there for some time now so it’s obvious whom the copycat is here. Though musicians regularly copy themselves, those who copy don’t really do as well as the originators and copying also portends something more ominous: that the copycat is desperate to give his career a needed lift so will throw shame to the winds by copying. Though Darey is a popular brand that has been around for long, and his brand has been further helped by his father who was a respected entertainer, he cannot lay claim to having been as musically successful as small boys like Wizkid, Olam

Eweoya, safety expert, trains children on safety

Oluwole Benjamin Eweoya, a safety expert and convener of Forwarders Group, a developmental group focused on developing the society, is presently on a safety training tour of schools in Lagos. Speaking during a safety training session at and safety kits presentation to Ewutuntun Grammar School, Oshodi, Lagos, he said the tour became a necessity because people are ignorant of the hazards around them so it’s better to teach children to be safety aware so that it becomes second nature to them when they grow up. Regarding the recent water disasters and constant fire incidents that lead to loss of lives in Lagos and all over the nation, he said, “Basically, the major thing that leads to disasters is ignorance. Many people are unaware of hazards around them. Even though some people may be aware, they take things for granted. So, our consciousness, what we call behavioural safety, needs to be encouraged in this society. As we walk around, as we live our daily lives, we need to be conscious of
