Update on Disney, CitizenGO LGBT battle
For some time now, the
international non-governmental organization, CitizenGO, has been engaged in a
battle with the world renowned entertainment organization, Disney, over its
support of the LGBT movement, a support the NGO believes is inimical to the
family-friendly entertainment Disney is known for.
And in an email from CitizenGO,
it said it’s really rattling Disney regarding its LGBT support and that it
plans to keep on its Disney advocacy until it backs down.
According to the email:
Thanks to the hundreds of thousands of dedicated CitizenGOers around
the world, we were able to collect a historic amount of signatures asking
Disney not to give in to pressure from LGBT activists.
Last Wednesday (November 27, 2019), we took a major stride forward by
bringing close to 500,000 signatures to Disney’s headquarters in Orlando,
Florida. They received our warning loud and clear asking them to stop
converting their parks and movies into an LGBT and gender ideology propaganda
machine.
We gained their attention!
Disney security employees didn't expect us and seemed very nervous when
they saw us coming with our signatures and banners denouncing Disney’s LGBT
propaganda. They called management inside the building to figure out what to do
next. The managers came out and also looked extremely upset. They refused to
speak to us directly and instead sent a security person to talk with us as an
intermediary.
It was evident that Disney’s not accustomed to complaints by families.
And it was clear that this was the first time Disney’s decision-makers
experienced a demonstration like this at their headquarters by concerned
pro-family voices.
The fact Disney seemed shocked to receive our signatures shows us that
our campaign is working and so we must keep pushing it until Disney stops
trying to indoctrinate our children!
Though we faced some difficulties in organizing the signature delivery,
it was all worthwhile because of the end result. We were encouraged to see how
many supporters we had along the way. While we were on our way to Disney
headquarters, in a pickup truck with Mickey and Goofy on board and decorated
with banners advertising the campaign, many drivers were honking their horns to
show their support!
This will be a clear signal to Disney's CEO that millions of people are
watching them closely because we are not happy with what they are trying to
pull. Not one bit.
Now, we are moving into the planning stages for our next steps
concerning the Disney campaign. In March, the shareholders’ meeting will be
held and we want to generate impact there too, posing questions and filing
official complaints inside the meeting. We also plan to organize another
demonstration outside the meeting.
But at the moment we are proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish.
And we were only able to thanks to the outstanding support of CitizenGOers
around the world.
