DAE member Mina Kesharvaz, colleague released but banned from travelling and facing severe charges
The Documentary Association of Europe has announced the release of its member Mina Keshavarz and her colleague Firouzeh Khosrovani.
According to the DAE, they were
arrested and held in Evin Prison for 8 days, are now facing fabricated and
severe charges and are not allowed to leave Iran for six months.

Speaking of their relief at the
duo’s release, the DAE added that “we want these fake charges dropped and their
travel allowances reinstated so they can continue to make beautiful documentary
films for audiences around the world to enjoy.”
Keshavarz is the brain behind the
film The Art of Living in Danger which
won Best documentary at Busan International Film Festival 2021 while Khosrovani’s
Radiograph of a Family was awarded
best film at IDFA in 2020.
