Havana 2015 sponsorship drive commences
Owners of the popular Havana Carnival, SIGMA Club of the University of Ibadan and an event company, G'ENNIE Leisure Inc in Lagos, have embarked on a sponsorship drive for the activation of the 60th edition of the biggest music show on any Nigerian campus. King Sunny Ade performed at a special edition of Havana last year tagged Havana Classic which had the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaka Ajimobi, among other dignitaries in attendance
A brewing company, which partly supported the event last year, has already begun discussion with the event stakeholders, just as a bottling company has also concluded terms with the event agency on a non-exclusive deal for now.
The Corporate Affairs Manager of G'ENNIE, Onokemi Onojobi, is confident of a successful show later this year following the promises made by corporate and private organisations to be part of a landmark anniversary event this year.
This week, the organisers plan to enter into media partnership with both print and electronic media outfits so that saturated publicity can be given the show.
Havana’s reputation was cemented with performances of great musicians that include King Sunny Ade, Dr Victor Olaiya, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Bobby Benson and Lagabja.
