Niniola adds weight to be like Teni

Shortly after Teni became a popular singer in the country with the smash hit, Case, the information circulated full scale that she was the sister of another female singer who found fame before her, Niniola.

Her breakthrough however seems to have become a thorn in her sister’s flesh.

In the Nigerian entertainment industry, the norm is that siblings are never allowed to shine together. Once one is doing well, it’s seen as if whatever he or she is getting belongs to the others as well.

Examples abound in MI and his brother Jesse Jagz. MI’s success never really allowed Jagz to thrive in his own right just as Sound Sultan’s success relegated that of his brother, Baba Dee. Burna Boy’s singing sister is not really being given the time of the day, 2face’s brother had to quit music and between the Kuti brothers, Femi is the one that has the acceptance over Seun.

Niniola is however not ready to just give up her space to her sister so easily. She’s collaborating and releasing her own music just to be visible so you can’t say she’s not trying her best.

Her latest music video though, Omo Rapala, seems to indicate that one of her strategies is to also add weight like Teni since people seem to like Teni for her plus size.

In the video which featured the fuji notable, Abass Akande Obesere aka Omo Rapala, it was quite obvious that Niniola had piled on the flesh and it was a struggle for her to move her body.

So, can the weight addition help her overtake her sister?

Time will tell.
