Ilupeju Township Games to hold milestone 5th edition

The fifth edition of the Ilupeju Township Games, which hold in Ilupeju, Lagos, is set to hold from November 23 – 28, 2020.

Speaking about it, its founder, His Highness, The Onipeju of Ilupeju, Chief Korede Bisade-Phillips, disclosed that the first edition held in 2010 and the fifth is just holding this year due to the challenges associated with holding an event of such magnitude.

He revealed his happiness at being able to hold the milestone fifth next month and added that every edition is a milestone for him though in his quest to use the sports competition for the development of Nigeria and its youth population.

He declared that this fifth edition will surpass the previous ones because more games have been added, including a marathon which will be the final event, and also because the games will for the first time have participants drawn from all over Lagos.

“Sports practitioners interested in participating in the Ilupeju Township Games 2020 have just a little time left to do so now as our divisional qualifiers, to select the finalists that will come for the main event in Ilupeju, will hold all over Lagos from November 2 – 6 and they promise to be quite exciting and an indicator of what the finals will be like.”
