From Nigeria, Masai Ujiri flies higher and higher
Ujiri |
Masai Ujiri grew up in Zaria, Nigeria but you might not readily want to believe that considering how high he’s flown.
It’s so high that how high he’s
on course for is what’s in conjecture now.
His latest feat is that he’s been
made the Vice-Chairman and Team President of the Canada-based Toronto Raptors, one
of the teams in the renowned National Basketball Association (NBA).
But before this, he was the
first, yes, first African general manager in the NBA when he was appointed GM
of the Denver Nuggets in 2011.
And to prove he wasn’t a fluke,
he won the 2013 NBA Executive of the Year award.
His time with the Nuggets paved
the way for him to the Raptors which he’s been leading since that 2013 and he
achieved a very great and rare feat with them when in 2019 they became the
first team outside the United States to win the NBA.
So what’s next for this great son
of Africa?
We look forward eagerly to his
next great achievement.
