Watch out for the Pulse Influencer Awards

One event you can look out for this month, August 2021, is the maiden edition of the Pulse Influencer Awards.

Since Pulse (https://Pulse.Africa/) is one of the reputable digital media organisations in Africa presently, it should be able to put up a pretty good show for its first PIA.

According to Pulse, PIA was set up to recognize and highlight bright lights in the influencer space in Africa who are building active engaged communities around their niche or craft.

Kanyinsola Aroyewun, Head of Marketing and Content Growth at Pulse added that “the African media landscape, like the rest of the world, is changing quickly. Digital media is the new mainstream, and as such, the role of influencers in driving this change cannot be overemphasized. Our initiative is aimed primarily at engaging the influencer communities in each of our markets, highlighting the most consistent and impactful creators and ultimately also helping to strengthen the growth of digital media across Africa.”

The markets Pulse is operative in are Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Senegal and the awards, featuring various categories and platforms, will take place in each of them.

They will kick off with a round of open nominations after which the list of nominated influencers will be screened by a jury that will select 10 nominees based on the criteria for each category.

The nominees will then proceed through two rounds of voting after which the winners will be announced at the final award ceremony.

Some of the notable categories are fashion, media, music, photography, acting.
