IPC launches development charters for three Lagos communities

The International Press centre (IPC) has presented to the public its development charters for Erejuwa-Makoko, Otumara and Isale Iwaya communities in Lagos. The charters are the result of a project, Strengthening Citizens Engagement in Electoral Process (SCEEP), implemented by IPC with the support of ACTIONAID and UKAID from the Department for International Development. The launching, which held at the council of Lagos Mainland LGA, Oyingbo, Lagos, had Adeola Soetan, National Coordinator, Democracy Vanguard, as the guest speaker, and his keynote address was aptly titled Enhancing Grassroots Development: Integrating Community Stakeholders in Governance. Support group for female gospel artists lands in Lagos

Women of African Origin in Music Ministry (WAOMM) has made a debut appearance in Nigeria. The outfit with the aim of supporting female gospel artistes of African origin was founded by Isabella Ogo-Uzodike, a Nigerian gospel artist based in the United Kingdom. Speaking in Lagos at the inaugural seminar titled, Step Up and Stand Up, WAOMM’s president, Isabella Ogo-Uzodike, told participants that the organisation was established with a divine passion to provide support for gospel artists in terms of providing needed encouragement and mentorship. “My husband and I are pastors in the UK. I’m a minister and gospel artist. I had my first album in 2009. At the initial period in my career, I needed to connect with someone to mentor and encourage me.
