$500bn at stake for Africa at SGI Dubai
The whopping sum of $500bn has
been identified as being at stake for Africa’s retail sector.
According to Sharif Rahman, CEO,
International Expo Consults, organiser of the SGI Dubai show scheduled for
January 12 – 14, 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, it’s an opportunity for
African business owners to tap directly into the $500bn that goes to signage
for the African retail sector.
“Signage, both traditional and digital,
coupled with the wide format printing industry, is an integral element of the
retail industry. And SGI Dubai show provides an accessible platform for African
business owners to source top of the line machines with the latest technology.
Bypassing the middleman, they will be able to get the most competitive rates
directly from the exhibitors and manufacturers of the top brands.”
Going by Rahman’s words, it’s
time for African businesses to tap into the massive $500bn retail ecosystem
that’s the signage industry which is what drives the retail business through
attracting the right customers by equipping themselves with the latest
innovation and communication tools which will be available at SGI Dubai.
These include LED shop front
signage, way finding systems, visual merchandising systems, digital display,
LED slim light boxes, acrylic display stands, podiums, promotional banners,
kiosks, gondolas and flags among all the other latest innovative digital
display screens.
He concluded that SGI Dubai 2020
is a must attend event for African sign-makers, print and production
manufacturers, media agencies, mall owners, the car wrapping industry, real estate
developers, the hospitality and tourism sector, the 3D printing industry,
architects, brand and image consultants among other stakeholders as it will
help them better in their bid to retain their old customers as well as acquire
new ones with the right signage they can get at the show for their businesses.
In addition to the existing
digital printing, signage, textile printing, screen printing, retail and LED
categories the show will have a renewed focus on digital display, labelling
& branding, metal cutting & engraving, spare parts & consumable,
artificial intelligence, software and paper sectors.
SGI Dubai 2020 will also include
car wrapping displays, seminars and workshops conducted by industry experts
under the banner of ‘Knowledge Series 2020’. During the previous edition SGI
Dubai welcomed over 330 global exhibitors from across 30+ countries and registered
thousands of trade visitors from around the world.
SGI Dubai is an ideal converging
point where visitors and exhibitors can influence and engage with architects,
sign makers, print and production manufacturers, media agencies, real-estate
developers, brand and image consultants among others.
