Why the agbada isn’t good for Nigeria

One of the popular male clothing items in Nigeria is the agbada.

Only God knows who or those who conceived it.

But whoever the person is, or people are, he-they certainly didn’t consider the fact that it was meant for a clime that doesn’t need it one bit.

As a clothing item designed to be worn on other clothing, the agbada is an aberration because Nigeria is a country with hot weather, people complain a lot about being heated, yet the same people allow themselves get heated by wearing an agbada that encourages that.

Just make it make sense.

As well, the agbada, which is a large garment, is also very uncomfortable as it restricts fluid movement and always has to be kept putting back in place because it keeps falling out of its position on the shoulder because it is just so large.

There is a type of agbada that’s however okay for Nigeria.

It’s an agbada buba that incorporates the basic elements of the agbada and the buba, which is the shirt worn under the agbada, to turn up as a garment that’s not as large as the agbada whilst also being shorter and without sleeves as well just like the agbada and it doesn’t need a traditional buba worn under it so it’s just perfect for the hot Nigeria weather.
