Why has Nigeria media star Morayo Afolabi-Brown permitted her husband to become polygamous?

Without a doubt, polygamy, having been biasedly and unjustifiably suppressed for decades by the Church, is making a gradual comeback, a grand return even.

And the Church, which welcomes everything, can’t have any excuse any longer to forbid it.

Those in favor of it will just argue that the Church accepts anything and everything, present such instances, and the Church will have no choice but to fold.

And one person who seems to be getting ahead of the pack is Nigeria media star, Morayo Afolabi-Brown.

And it’s unsurprising since she’s a top media personality so should be well informed of relevant trends and the way the wind is blowing regarding polygamy as even exemplified by the Presbyterian Church in the US which is facing massive internal backlash over wanting its ordained clergy to be in monogamous sexual relationships but three official progressive church committees and polyamorous church groups are kicking against that restriction so it’s set to be put to a vote at its General Assembly this summer in Milwaukee.

So, if anything, that’s a very clear sign that polygamy and polyamory are soon going to make their undeniable way officially into Christendom.

And it might not be such a bad thing considering the current state of the world.

And as a married woman in a currently monogamous union, when Morayo shocked everyone recently when she said she’s open to polygamy so her husband can go ahead to marry another wife, this blogger wasn’t shocked one bit because he’s aware of the coming times as indicated by the US Presbyterian Church having to consider voting on allowing polygamy and polyamory and Morayo would definitely be too as an astute woman as well as a savvy media personality.

So, is it that she’s just getting ahead of the coming times or she’s seen the handwriting on the wall that her husband will take a second wife whether she likes it or not?

That’s the big question.

Note: The US Presbyterian Church held its general assembly from June 22 - July 2, 2026 and it couldn't hold the vote which can be said to be an unofficial permission for polygamy and polyamory.

And, diplomatically, whilst it couldn't hold the vote, obviously because there was very strong support for polygamy and polyamory, it opted for a further study.
