Nigerian musicians receive bad news from America
Probably every Nigerian musician
will not be enamoured with the news that just came from America and is still
spreading.
The basic gist of the news is
that music promoters who promote Nigerian music and musicians in America are
not happy at what they are being charged by Nigerian artists to come and
perform in America as they don’t make any profit from such shows.
To this end, the promoters have
decided to blacklist any musician whom they feel is not ready to play ball with
them.
If you’re such a musician, tread
softly, softly oh.
While some musicians who have
benefitted from such promotion in the past will be scared right now at the
prospect of not being taken abroad again for shows, musicians who have never
been promoted abroad will be hopeful that they might be considered now.
Musicians who have travelled
abroad to perform include P-Square, MC Galaxy, 2face, D’Banj and Wande Coal.
