APC might rule Nigeria for forty years
The ruling party in Nigeria presently, All Progressives Congress (APC), might rule Nigeria for a minimum of forty years consecutively the way things are going.
When democracy returned to the
country in 1999 and it was the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in charge then,
they boasted that they would hold that power for sixty years minimum.
They did so for only sixteen
years, though.
They lost their ruling power to
the APC for several reasons among which are that they had become so used to
power they felt it was their right, their massive success led to internal disgruntlements
they failed to manage properly, they weren’t really moving the country forward
as expected by the masses and so on.
The most potent reason for their
failure to keep to their sixty-year rule wish was that they had no actual
strategy in place for it.
But where they failed, the APC
might just succeed instead going by the trends in the country since they came
into power.

Next President of Nigeria: Will Bola Ahmed Tinubu be better than Muhammadu Buhari?
It’s not on record how long they
want to rule for and this makes them all the more deadly since their plan in
that regard is not known.
But whether known officially or
not, it’s obvious they want to perpetuate themselves in power as that’s the
ultimate desire of every political party.
But unlike the PDP that couldn’t
manage its success, maybe because it got the power easily in 1999 so couldn’t
really fully value it, the APC is a product of necessity led by those who know
the right decisions to make when necessary to keep getting what they want.
This is why despite the fact that
their time in power has been the worst ever for the country, they still have
that power and will definitely hold on to it at the next round of elections as
they know how to hoodwink, bedazzle and lie to people to get their way.
This immoral trait of theirs,
which they are callous in executing, is what might keep them in power for the
next forty years minimum.
Though time will tell what will
eventually happen to them, if they’ll stay in power for that time or lose out
back to the PDP or another party totally, the reality is that they will keep
being in power because they have not just experts in that regard in their camp,
they have the greatest expert as well and if you don’t know who that is, then
you’re definitely on a long thing.
