Marine Le Pen: flight risk or next President of France?

Is top female French politician Marine Le Pen going to become the next President of France?

That is certainly the big question now that a court has made her eligible for France’s next presidential elections in what is certainly a big win for freedom as it was just unfair that she should be ineligible for a presidential contest in which she has a fair chance.

And, considering that Donald Trump was also on the brink of prison like she was, but survived his legal troubles to become the current President of the United States of America, maybe that will also be her fate.

As customary with France, though, the judge who oversaw highly anticipated her trial, ordered that she should be monitored with an electronic tag to ensure that she would keep to the terms of her sentencing regarding when she has to be indoors.

And, whilst the purpose of the electronic tag is made perfectly clear, and she might even be freed of it sooner than later like former French President Nicolas Sarkozy when it was also his turn to be on such a tag, it nevertheless makes one wonder if they perhaps feel that she might run away from the country despite her high profile and ambitious political ambitions.
