Thank God the FIFA eggheads are wiser than their critics

Humans love to complain unnecessarily.

They gripe about almost everything, even and especially the things they can’t do better so they are just jealous of them.

Football is therefore not immune from their griping.

One of their football grievances is that the FIFA World Cup shouldn’t have a third place game.

And maybe if people don’t turn up for it, that would have been understandable.

But the true football lovers turn out en masse for it despite the talk against it, and even those griping against it too, and so the third place game at the FIFA World Cup 2026 served up a stunning 10-goal World Cup thriller that even the final couldn’t.

As well, even as the talk against it will certainly not abate, the reason(s) for the existence of the third place game is a no-brainer.

So, all thanks to God that FIFA’s eggheads are definitely wiser than those spewing BS about it.

Or else we would have been robbed of the opportunity for some really great football.
