Will Bola Ahmed Tinubu be the next President of Nigeria?

This question is greatly troubling the minds of Nigerians presently ahead of the next presidential elections that will formally commence the end of the disastrous reign of the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari, who only became so because of the inimitable support of Tinubu who’s now in contention to take over from him which was why he even helped him in the first instance so as to pave the way for him smoothly after his own tenure.

Pave the way not even by Buhari endorsing him but by the fact that without Buhari in contention, every opposition to him would be inferior.

And so it is playing out now and disgustingly so because he took his time to announce his presidency ambition.

Over the years, there’ve been speculations but no official word from the great man himself.

Then in the second half of 2021, it was said he would make his intention known in January 2022.

This was the sign for his would-be opponents to begin strategizing to outplay him.

But it seems they were hoping he would announce that he wasn’t running for President.

And on Monday January 10, 2022, he declared his presidency aspiration formally to the whole world in a way that proves he’s strategizing far ahead of his competitors by revealing that he had made his intention known to the incumbent.

And once he came out in the open, the others began to scramble, annoyingly so when they could have even upstaged him by announcing before him.

Dave Umahi followed by him also going to tell Buhari he wants to be President.

Orji Uzor Kalu said he can match him grit for grit to be the next presidential candidate of their party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dele Momodu too came out to declare his hope for the coveted office which is the highest in any country.

In a nutshell right now as the presidency race stands right now, it’s simply that Tinubu declared for it, others began to declare.

Tinubu took a certain step, another took it.

In other words, Tinubu acts, others react.

So the question you have to ask yourself now is that can his so-called opponents who seem to be lacking in ideas and can even be accused of being inspired by him defeat him?
