After years of peaceful co-existence, why are the US and ICC suddenly locked in a very messy power tussle?

When I first heard of the International Criminal Court (ICC), I loved it.

Its concept was obviously great as a way to further ensure justice in a very corrupt world.

But justice is only served when its administrators don’t allow their personal grievances to pervert it.

And now that the United States of America is locked in a very messy power tussle with the ICC in which the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has said they will break the ICC brick by brick, there’s definitely something not sitting right somewhere.

And this is made more so obvious by the fact that how have the US and ICC co-existed in peace all these time?

And the fact that the ICC’s top prosecutor, Karim Khan, was just ousted over sexual misconduct allegations is a very bitter blow to the ICC in the messy fight.

And it all just really breaks my heart because their extremely messy power tussle is just proving the saying that when two elephants fight, it’s the grass that suffers.

And that’s not a good thing for the world.
