Why the Lionel Messi Lamine Yamal fateful picture went viral again

There’s a reason the picture from 19 years ago of Argentine football great Lionel Messi bathing the baby Lamine Yamal was then suddenly started making the rounds again ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.

It wasn’t just because of how it proved how mysterious life was that the two were now set to face-off in a World Cup final 19 years afterward.

It wasn’t also because it proved quite clearly, since nobody ever saw the two squaring off in a World Cup final, that those saying AI and robots will take over the future, and those saying climate change will destroy the world, don’t really know what they are on about.

The main reason the picture went suddenly global again, after having already done so before, was that the picture was now like a symbol of Messi transferring his great football powers to Yamal either divinely or inadvertently.

Only time will tell, though, if this is the case indeed.
