How DEI mastery is helping FIFA President Gianni Infantino overcome his ops
A recent report made it very apparent that there is so much shock in some quarters that over 200 FIFA members were still backing FIFA President Gianni Infantino for a fourth term despite the controversy they strived to create out of the suspension of the red card that was issued to US World Cup star Folarin Balogun.
And those who are shocked at the massive support for
Infantino are definitely justified to feel that way.
Their shock however proves that they maybe not only underestimated
their target, Infantino, they are also failing to read the room properly.
Under Infantino’s leadership, many more countries
that wouldn’t have had the opportunity to, have been able to participate in the
World Cup.
And for the next edition in 2030, he’s proposing even
more participation with a 64-country tournament.
And whilst he’s proving himself to be a DEI master
thereby, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin criticized the just-ended World Cup
for having 48 nations.
So, considering that Infantino is opening up the
World Cup to even more countries, is it a shock that many FIFA members are
supporting his fourth term bid against his opposition that would surely limit participation
for justifiable-unjustifiable reasons?
That’s surely a very easy question.
